Dairy products, Australian research confirms benefits

Adequate dairy intake keeps older women strong. These benefits, according to an Australian study, are associated with the inclusion of good amounts of milk, yogurt and cheese in the diet.

The survey compared the daily dairy consumption of 1,456 women, aged 70 to 85 years, with their physical condition. Ladies who reported taking two or more servings of dairy products each day reveal having a higher proportion of lean mass and better physical performance. Similar effects have been observed in younger adult women at daily consumption of three dairy rations.

Dairy products can help maintain muscles in several ways. They offer noble protein, high biological value, enhance growth factors, and promote muscle gain.
