La patologia (nella versione &#8216;di tipo 2&#8217; o &#8216;alimentare&#8217;) scatenata da alimentazione squilibrata e sedentariet\u00e0 affligge ormai il 10% degli\u00a0statunitensi, e continua a crescere velocemente nei paesi in cui lo sviluppo economico si accompagna al consumo di alimenti industriali mal concepiti, con troppi grassi saturi,\u00a0zuccheri semplici e sodio.<\/p>\n<p>In Asia il diabete alimentare, poco diffuso fino al 2000, 6 anni fa era diagnosticato al 7,6% della popolazione\u00a0e salir\u00e0 a 9,1% nel 2030, secondo la International Diabetes Federation.<\/p>\n<p>In Italia ai 3 mln di persone (4,9% del totale) con diabete di tipo 2 conclamato\u00a0si somma un altro milione di individui stimati come diabetici non ancora diagnosticati. Senza cambiamenti significativi, nel 2030\u00a0i malati saranno 5 mln nel solo Belpaese.<\/p>\n<p>Con 285 mln (nel 2010) di persone malate, il\u00a0diabete\u00a0alimentare\u00a0\u00e8 gi\u00e0 emergenza globale.
