In Sud-Est asiatico, (1) come in Africa e \u00a0America Latina. Non solo al centro, in Messico e Colombia,\u00a0ma anche in\u00a0Per\u00f9\u00a0dove la\u00a0palma da olio\u00a0divora l&#8217;Amazzonia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Il Per\u00f9 attualmente custodisce\u00a0<\/strong>circa\u00a074 milioni di ettari di\u00a0foreste vergini, pari al 70% del territorio nazionale. La palma da olio ha gi\u00e0 divorato 60.000 ettari di foresta amazzonica, e ne travolger\u00e0 a breve altri\u00a0113.000, (2) a causa dei\u00a0progetti attivati dal Grupo Palmas e dalla rete di imprese create da Dennis Melka, investitore legato a grandi interessi agro-industriali in\u00a0Malesia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Il meccanismo \u00e8 sempre lo stesso<\/strong>, espropriazione dei territori alle popolazioni che li hanno abitati per secoli e millenni, (2) deforestazioni e deviazione dei corsi d&#8217;acqua a servizio delle nuove monocolture, piantumazioni e massiccio impiego di pesticidi neurotossici vietati nei Paesi di destino del grasso tropicale. Che viene poi raffinato a elevate temperature, causando la formazione di contaminanti genotossici e cancerogeni.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Devastazione ambientale<\/strong>, emissioni sbalorditive di gas serra, conflitti sulle terre e sfruttamento dei lavoratori, anche minori. Per il profitto senza scrupolo dei\u00a0<em>palmocrati<\/em>, i pochi colossi industriali che producono l&#8217;oro verde e quelli che lo trasformano in &#8216;biodiesel&#8217; o ingrediente alimentare.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/deforestazione-peru.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-27282 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/deforestazione-peru.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/deforestazione-peru.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/deforestazione-peru-300x188.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/deforestazione-peru-150x94.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Il rapporto<\/strong>\u00a0&#8216;<em>Deforestaci\u00f3n por definici\u00f3n<\/em>&#8216; (4) evidenzia il pericolo di distruzione di oltre 150 mila ettari di foreste primarie. Tuttavia, non siamo preparati ad affrontare questa situazione, \u00e8 necessario lavorare in una politica multisettoriale che integra i criteri ambientali, sociali e geografici&#8221; ha spiegato.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8216;Le autorit\u00e0 peruviane hanno interpretato in modo erroneo la definizione di &#8216;foreste&#8217; contenuta nella Legge Forestale, in modo da consentire la deforestazione di migliaia di ettari di\u00a0foresta amazzonica\u00a0primaria.&#8217; <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(Julia Urrunaga, direttrice dei programmi di\u00a0EIA,\u00a0Environmental Investigation Agency)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Perch\u00e9 la palma da olio divora l&#8217;Amazzonia peruviana?<\/strong>\u00a0Perch\u00e9 la domanda globale di olio di palma continua a crescere, nonostante le opposizioni dei consumatori europei.
