Ampio utilizzo nelle piantagioni di\u00a0palma da olio<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Paraquat<\/strong> \u00e8 l&#8217;agrotossico Made in Europe che sta avvelenando i lavoratori agricoli nel mondo. Bandito in Europa, viene ancora prodotto ed esportato nei Paesi in Via di Sviluppo, dove i profitti dei pochi divorano i diritti dei molti. Per produrre ci\u00f2 che poi torna a noi, sotto forma di olio di palma nei prodotti.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Il_business_dei_veleni\"><\/span>Il\u00a0business\u00a0dei veleni<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>I pericoli del\u00a0glifosato\u00a0<\/strong>(1) hanno finalmente raggiunto l&#8217;attenzione del grande pubblico. Il suo destino \u00e8 segnato, e verr\u00e0 sostituito da un nuovo micidiale mix a base di\u00a0dicamba. Il business degli\u00a0agrotossici\u00a0del resto funziona cos\u00ec, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greatitalianfoodtrade.it\/libri\/ogm-la-grande-truffa\">come abbiamo mostrato nell&#8217;ebook &#8216;OGM\u00a0la Grande Truffa&#8217;<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Il paraquat appartiene invece alla generazione precedente\u00a0di\u00a0armi chimiche\u00a0in agricoltura. Un pesticida neurotossico cos\u00ec venefico da poter uccidere un essere umano con un solo\u00a0piccolo sorso. Le\u00a0vittime di avvelenamento &#8211; accidentale e da suicidio &#8211;\u00a0ogni anno\u00a0si contano\u00a0a migliaia, a livello planetario.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Double_standard\"><\/span>Double standard<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>L&#8217;impiego del paraquat in Europa \u00e8 fuorilegge<\/strong>\u00a0dal 2007. Dopo che la Corte di Giustizia UE ha annullato la direttiva 112\/2003\/CE, nella parte in cui la Commissione europea aveva autorizzato tale sostanza, per non avere &#8216;soddisfatto i requisiti della protezione della salute umana e animale&#8217;. (2) Dobbiamo ci\u00f2 all&#8217;iniziativa del Regno di Svezia, con il supporto di\u00a0Danimarca, Finlandia e Austria.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Il veleno per\u00f2\u00a0viene\u00a0tuttora prodotto in Europa<\/strong>\u00a0per venire distribuito nei Paesi in Via di Sviluppo, ove le\u00a0lobby\u00a0dei colossi hanno saputo &#8216;convincere&#8217; i governanti locali a non vietarne l&#8217;impiego nonostante la grave pericolosit\u00e0 per l&#8217;uomo, gli animali e l&#8217;ambiente. (3) Cos\u00ec il gruppo svizzero\u00a0Syngenta\u00a0esporta ogni anno circa 41.000 tonnellate di paraquat ora prodotto a Huddersfield (UK), fino al 2015 anche in Belgio.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8216;The fact that the EU has decided to ban the pesticide for health and environmental reasons, but they still export it to countries with far weaker regulation and far weaker controls, is shocking to me&#8217;. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(Baskut Tuncak, Relatore speciale alle Nazioni Unite sui rifiuti tossici)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>I diritti umani\u00a0entrano allora in gioco<\/strong>, quando in nome del profitto si esportino sostanze di cui \u00e8 nota la grave pericolosit\u00e0 per la salute.\u00a0&#8216;Mentre il Regno Unito ha svolto un ruolo di primo piano nell&#8217;affrontare la schiavit\u00f9 moderna&#8217; spiega\u00a0Baskut Tuncak, relatore speciale all&#8217;ONU sui rifiuti tossici\u00a0(4)\u00a0&#8211; &#8216;\u00e8 stato chiuso un occhio sull&#8217;impatto\u00a0delle attivit\u00e0 del Regno Unito\u00a0sui diritti umani, per quanto riguarda le filiere di approvvigionamento e le catene di valore&#8217;.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Il_paraquat_ammala_e_uccide\"><\/span>Il paraquat ammala e uccide<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>I giudici di Lussemburgo<\/strong>, nelle 82 pagine della sentenza servita a mettere fuorilegge il veleno in oggetto, (5) hanno considerato vari studi sulla sua tossicit\u00e0. Studi condotti in Guatemala, Sri Lanka, Spagna hanno mostrato come neppure l&#8217;impiego di maschere e indumenti protettivi bastino a impedire l&#8217;esposizione degli utilizzatori all&#8217;agente tossico.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8216;Syngenta, the creator and main seller of paraquat, currently makes profits from its sales to developing countries, knowing that farmers and workers have no possibility to protect themselves adequately which leads to high risk conditions of use and uncounted poisoning cases.&#8217; <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(Francois Meienberg,\u00a0Public Eye NGO,\u00a0Berne Declaration)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>La neurotossicit\u00e0 \u00e8 ampiamente accertata<\/strong>, al punto che l&#8217;esposizione a questo pesticida \u00e8 forse l&#8217;unica tra le cause del morbo\u00a0di Parkinson finora identificate. (6) Ed \u00e8 perci\u00f2 che la Francia ha riconosciuto il Parkinson come malattia professionale per gli agricoltori d&#8217;Oltralpe. I quali, fino al 2007, hanno spruzzato paraquat su vigne e uliveti, in particolare.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/locandina-paraquat.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-27626 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/locandina-paraquat.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/locandina-paraquat.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/locandina-paraquat-240x300.jpg 240w, https:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/locandina-paraquat-150x188.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/locandina-paraquat-300x375.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Paraquat_e_olio_di_palma\"><\/span>Paraquat e olio di palma<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Le coltivazioni di palma da olio<\/strong>\u00a0sono oggi quelle ove l&#8217;impiego del pesticida neurotossico risulta pi\u00f9 diffuso. Per una semplice ragione,\u00a0flora e fauna tendono a rinnovarsi spontaneamente nelle aree tropicali deforestate.\u00a0Servono quindi armi chimiche efficaci per garantire la produttivit\u00e0 della coltura, distruggendo ogni altra fonte di vita. Serve un pesticida di ampio spettro, pi\u00f9 efficace del glifosato. Come il paraquat, appunto.
