I pesticidi neonicotinoidi distruggono le popolazioni di insetti \u2018non-target\u2019 &#8211; e altre specie animali, come gli uccelli migratori. (1)\u00a0L\u2019ecosistema non ha scampo, e i danni dell\u2019esposizione a pesticidi per la salute umana sono altrettanto noti ormai. Glifosato\u00a0e paraquat\u00a0hanno gi\u00e0 dato prova di s\u00e9, come prima il DDT, l\u2019agente Orange e l\u2019atrazina.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>La sopravvivenza delle api \u00e8 a rischio<\/b>, come dimostrato nella pi\u00f9 ampia ricerca condotta mediante sperimentazione in campo, pubblicata su\u00a0<i>Science<\/i>\u00a0nel 2017. (2) E se ad Albert Einstein viene attribuita la tragica profezia della fine della vita umana entro quattro giorni dalla scomparsa dell\u2019ultima ape, all\u2019entomologo McGregor si deve un concetto pi\u00f9 concreto riferimento,\u00a0un terzo del nostro cibo deriva dall\u2019opera di\u00a0insetti pollinatori. (3)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">\u2018<i>Il trattamento delle sementi con neonicotinoidi ha causato preoccupazione a livello mondiale. Abbiamo condotto ampie sperimentazioni per valutare gli effetti delle colture trattate con neonicotinoidi su tre specie di api in tre Paesi (Ungheria, Germania e Regno Unito). La colza seminata in inverno \u00e8 stata coltivata su ampia scala sia con semi trattati con neonicotinoidi (clothianidin\u00a0o\u00a0thiamethoxam), sia con semi non trattati. Per le api da miele, abbiamo riscontrato effetti negativi (Ungheria e Regno Unito) e positivi (Germania) durante la fioritura. In Ungheria, gli effetti negativi sulle api da miele (associate al\u00a0clothianidin) si sono protratte fino all\u2019inverno successivo, provocando la riduzione delle colonie nella primavera seguente (con un calo del 24%). Nelle api selvatiche (Bombus terrestris\u00a0e\u00a0Osmia bicornis), la riproduzione era negativamente correlata ai residui di neonicotinoidi. Questi risultati indicano che i neonicotinoidi causano una ridotta capacit\u00e0 delle specie di api di stabilire nuove popolazioni nell&#8217;anno successivo all&#8217;esposizione<\/i>\u2019 (<i>Country-specific effects of neonicotinoid pesticides on honey bees and wild bees<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Abstract<\/i>. Doi\u00a010.1126\/science.aaa1190)<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Il Relatore speciale alle Nazioni Unite<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0per il Diritto al Cibo,\u00a0Hilal Ever,\u00a0ha pubblicato un rapporto\u00a0con\u00a0dati aggiornati al 2017 sui pericoli degli agrotossici per i diritti umani, la salute e il pianeta. Con \u2018<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"it-IT\"><i>impatti catastrofici<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u2018 sui lavoratori in agricoltura, i consumatori, le risorse naturali indispensabili per alimentare la filiera.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>L\u2019Istituto francese per la Ricerca in Agricoltura<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">, sempre nel 2017, ha pubblicato su\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i>Nature<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0un ampio studio che ha dimostrato come una riduzione sostanziale dei pesticidi in agricoltura non sia soltanto possibile, ma anche economica ed efficace. Su tali basi il programma governativo \u2018<\/span><\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Ecophyto<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u2018 ha definito un obiettivo di riduzione dell\u2019impiego di agrotossici in misura\u00a0del 50%,\u00a0entro il 2018.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Svizzera_Flowering_Habitats\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Svizzera,\u00a0<i>Flowering Habitats<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>La preoccupazione per il danno ambientale<\/b>\u00a0causato dai pesticidi \u00e8 cresciuta rapidamente, come si \u00e8 visto, negli ultimi anni. E l\u2019esperienza nei campi ha dimostrato come la presenza di fiori selvatici ai margini dei campi possa limitare la migrazione dei parassiti (come sirfidi, vespe e coleotteri di terra) nelle colture. Con l\u2019ulteriore effetto di aumentare i raccolti.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Il programma \u2018<\/b><i><b>100<\/b><\/i><b>\u00a0<\/b><i><b>wildflower strips<\/b><\/i>\u00a0<i><b>for beneficials<\/b><\/i><i>\u00a0in practice<\/i>\u2019\u00a0\u00e8 stato attivato in\u00a0Svizzera, nel 2015, sotto l\u2019egida della \u2018compensazione ecologica\u2019 in apposite\u00a0<i>biodiversity-promotion areas<\/i>. Utilizzando\u00a0fiori come fiordaliso, coriandolo, grano saraceno, papavero e aneto su strisce di terra ai margini delle colture di cereali.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Gli esperimenti hanno dimostrato<\/b>\u00a0che la densit\u00e0 dello scarabeo nocivo alle foglie di cereali, nei campi coltivati a frumento invernale, \u00e8 diminuita in quota variabile tra il 40 e il 53%, senza impiegare alcun pesticida. Con una riduzione complessiva dei danni alle piante di grano (-61%).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Inghilterra_Assist\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Inghilterra, Assist<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Il programma di ricerca Assist<\/b>\u00a0(<i>Achieving Sustainable Agricultural Systems<\/i>)\u00a0\u00e8 stato avviato in Inghilterra nell\u2019autunno 2017, per un periodo iniziale di 5 anni, con uno stanziamento di 11 milioni di sterline. (5) Su iniziativa del\u00a0<i>Centre for Ecology &amp; Hydrology<\/i>, in\u00a0<i>partnership<\/i>\u00a0con il British Geological Survey e il centro di ricerca Rothamated.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Obiettivo della ricerca<\/b>\u00a0\u00e8 lo sviluppo di pratiche di agricoltura sostenibile, la protezione dei suoli rispetto a fenomeni meteorologici estremi e la riduzione dell\u2019impatto dell\u2019agricoltura sull\u2019ambiente. La sperimentazione ha preso avvio in\u00a015 grandi aziende agricole, nell&#8217;Inghilterra centrale e orientale. Mediante semina di\u00a0fiori selvatici su strisce di terra larghe 6 metri,\u00a0a 100 metri di distanza l\u2019una dall\u2019altra,\u00a0che attraversano e perimetrano i campi coltivati (occupando un\u2019area del 2% rispetto alla superficie totale).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>I\u00a0fiori utilizzati<\/b>\u00a0&#8211; margherita, trifoglio rosso, centaurea comune, carota selvatica e altri &#8211; sono risparmiati dalla\u00a0raccolta (guidata con GPS), in modo da offrire rifugio agli insetti in via continuativa. Cos\u00ec che i predatori possano attaccare afidi e altri parassiti sui campi coltivati a rotazione (grano invernale, colza, orzo).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2018<span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i><b>C&#8217;\u00e8 indubbiamente spazio<\/b><\/i><i>\u00a0per ridurre l&#8217;uso di pesticidi\u2019<\/i>, ha dichiarato Bill Parker &#8211; direttore della ricerca presso il Consiglio di sviluppo per l&#8217;agricoltura e l&#8217;orticoltura &#8211; a\u00a0<i>The Guardian<\/i>. (6) Ma\u00a0\u2018<i>un enorme cambiamento culturale<\/i>\u2019 \u00e8 necessario in agricoltura, dove i pesticidi vengono ora usati a priori, indipendentemente cio\u00e8\u00a0dal concreto bisogno.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>La maggior parte delle ricerche in agricoltura<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0del resto \u2018<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i>proviene da agronomi legati a societ\u00e0 che ricavano i loro soldi dalla vendita di pesticidi\u2019<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">, conclude il Dr. Parker, e v\u2019\u00e8 quindi \u2018<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i>una pressione commerciale che tende ad adottare un approccio profilattico.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span
