(1) Il lavoro \u00e8 stato realizzato col contributo di\u00a0Baskut Tuncak, \u2018<i>United Nations Special Rapporteur on the implications for human rights of the environmentally sound management and disposal of hazardous substances and wastes\u2019<\/i>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium; color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">\u2018<i>Children are uniquely vulnerable to uptake and adverse effects of pesticides because of developmental, dietary, and physiologic factors. Exposure occurs through ingestion, inhalation, or dermal contact. Unintentional ingestion by children may be at a considerably higher dose than an adult because of the greater intake of food or uids per pound of body weight. Children exhibit frequent hand-to-mouth activity, and this is an important source of increased exposure in comparison with adults.<\/i>\u2019 (2)<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>La salute dei bambini<\/b>\u00a0\u00e8 soggetta a rischi peculiari per l\u2019esposizione a pesticidi. A causa della loro ingestione (sia pure sotto forma di residui negli alimenti, la cui tolleranza \u00e8 infatti pari a zero sul baby-food commercializzato in UE), inalazione e contatto con la pelle. Tramite aria, acqua, suoli e oggetti contaminati.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>L\u2019impatto degli agenti tossici\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">viene infatti definito in relazione al peso corporeo, con esposizione a progresso geometrico nei corpi pi\u00f9 piccoli. Con peculiare incidenza sui bambini, nei primi anni di et\u00e0, in ragione del grave pregiudizio ai sistemi vitali (sistema nervoso, endocrino e immunitario in particolare) provocato da pesticidi gi\u00e0 riconosciuti come neurotossici, genotossici\u00a0e cancerogeni.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>La tossicit\u00e0 dei\u00a0pesticidi<\/b>\u00a0su organi vitali dei minori \u00e8 amplificata fino a 10 volte, sui reni, rispetto agli adulti. In proporzioni variabili su fegato, polmoni e bronchi. Ma i danni si esprimono gi\u00e0 in fase pre-natale, con malformazioni del feto, prevalenza di aborti spontanei e parti prematuri. Perturbazioni al sistema endocrino in et\u00e0 0-4, maggiore occorrenza di tumori al cervello e leucemie &#8211; oltre a ritardi nello sviluppo cognitivo &#8211; negli anni a seguire.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Liquidi amniotici, placente<\/b>, cordoni ombelicali, feti e latte materno nei Paesi in via di sviluppo riportano spesso tracce di DDT e altri\u00a0agrotossici, che sono tuttora impiegati in contrasto a ogni logica e possono permanere nei suoli per centinaia di anni. (3)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Residui tossici negli alimenti<\/b>. I bambini in tutte le comunit\u00e0 e Paesi sono esposti ai pesticidi anche attraverso l&#8217;ingestione di frutta e verdura. Gli studi condotti nel 2016 dalla\u00a0<i>Thai Pesticide Action Network<\/i>\u00a0hanno trovato residui multipli di sostanze venefiche, vietate pure in Thailandia, sul 35%-100% dell\u2019ortofrutta in vendita al dettaglio.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Lo\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>sfruttamento minorile<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>in agricoltura<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0impegna almeno 108 milioni di bambini e minori di ambo i sessi, a partire dai 5-7 anni. I giovani schiavi lavorano nelle monocolture di palma da olio (come gi\u00e0 documentato da Amnesty International\u00a0&#8211; e di\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">cacao<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">, ove spruzzano e inalano agrotossici senza alcun dispositivo di protezione individuale.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/piantagioni-cacao.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-31767 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/piantagioni-cacao.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/piantagioni-cacao.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/piantagioni-cacao-300x188.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/piantagioni-cacao-150x94.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>\u00c8 questo il costo sociale<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0degli \u2018<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i>ingredienti di qualit\u00e0<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u2019 di chi ancora ne rivendica e pubblicizza l\u2019impiego, con apodittiche affermazioni di \u2018<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><i>sostenibilit\u00e0<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u2019 delle rispettive filiere. Guardandosi bene dal documentare le condizioni di lavoro, le rapine delle terre e le deforestazioni dei polmoni verdi del pianeta &#8211; con emissioni di gas-serra\u00a0destinate a protrarsi per quasi un secolo dopo i colossali roghi &#8211; portate avanti in nome della bulimica ingordigia di profitto.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>La politica dei Paesi c.d. sviluppati<\/b>\u00a0dovrebbe subito adottare le misure di dettaglio indicate nella relazione in esame. (5) Per interrompere una volta per tutte il circolo vizioso di stampo neo-coloniale che aggrava di giorno in giorno l\u2019iniquit\u00e0 e le diseguaglianze. (6)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>La\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i><b>realpolitik<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>deviata<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0a servizio delle\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i>Big 6<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0(che controllano il 75% del mercato globale di agrotossici e sementi) invece trattiene la Commissione europea dall\u2019adottare le dovute misure in tema di interferenti endocrini, dopo averla spinta a rinnovare l\u2019autorizzazione del glifosato.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Mentre i\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i><b>palmamentari<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0italiani\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Alberto Cirio<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0(ex v.sindaco di Alba) e Fulvio Martusciello si cimentano a ottenere il divieto di Strasburgo alle diciture \u2018<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i>senza\u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i>olio di palma<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u2019\u00a0e \u2018<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i>senza OGM<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u2019 sulle etichette dei prodotti alimentari.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i><b>Children First!<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i>Dario Dongo<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>PS<\/b>: sar\u00e0 un caso, ma il rapporto Unicef in esame non risulta essere stato ripreso granch\u00e9, un eufemismo, dalla stampa italiana.
