Con l\u2019obiettivo di assicurare la prevenzione e cura delle malattie infettive con farmaci sicuri ed efficaci.\u00a0(1)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #0000ff; font-size: medium;\">\u2018<i><b>Gli antibiotici<\/b><\/i><i>\u00a0sono farmaci usati per prevenire e curare le infezioni batteriche.\u00a0<\/i><i><b>La resistenza agli antibiotici<\/b><\/i><i>\u00a0si verifica quando i batteri cambiano in risposta all&#8217;uso di questi medicinali. I batteri, non gli esseri umani o gli animali, diventano resistenti agli antibiotici<\/i>\u2019 (WHO,\u00a0<i>World Health Organization<\/i>).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>La dimensione del problema<\/b>\u00a0\u00e8 offerta al di l\u00e0 dell\u2019Atlantico dal CDC (<i>Center for Disease Control and Prevention<\/i>). Secondo l\u2019agenzia sanitaria USA, ogni anno\u00a0si verificano\u00a0negli Stati Uniti circa 2 milioni\u00a0di casi di infezioni da batteri antibiotico-resistenti, le quali causano 23.000 morti.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>La riduzione d\u2019impiego degli antibiotici<\/b>\u00a0\u00e8 quindi un\u2019esigenza condivisa a livello planetario. Dato atto che l&#8217;uso eccessivo di tali sostanze contribuisce alla resistenza agli antibiotici, le amministrazioni sanitarie raccomandano di\u00a0prevenirne l\u2019abuso. Evitando il loro impiego, ad esempio,\u00a0per malattie virali come\u00a0raffreddori, influenza e altre infezioni respiratorie acute.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>L&#8217;OMS ha poi raccomandato<\/b>\u00a0la riduzione dell\u2019impiego di tali farmaci nella filiera zootecnica. Le Linee guida pubblicate a novembre 2017 evidenziano infatti come\u00a0il consumo complessivo degli antibiotici essenziali in medicina,\u00a0in\u00a0alcuni Paesi,\u00a0venga assorbito dalla zootecnia in quota rilevante, fino all\u201980%. (2)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 align=\"LEFT\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Probiotici_e_salute\"><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Probiotici e salute<\/b><\/span><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>I probiotici sono microrganismi vivi\u00a0<\/b>che, ove\u00a0somministrati in quantit\u00e0\u00a0e tempi adeguati (almeno un miliardo al giorno 3-4 settimane), possono apportare\u00a0vari\u00a0benefici alla salute umana. Da principio utilizzati per la prevenzione e cura delle malattie gastrointestinali, i probiotici hanno rivelato la capacit\u00e0 di rafforzare la struttura e la funzione della barriera intestinale, e cos\u00ec del sistema immunitario.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Le evidenze scientifiche<\/b>\u00a0richiamate nello studio in esame suggeriscono inoltre la capacit\u00e0 dell&#8217;integrazione probiotica di ridurre l\u2019incidenza e la gravit\u00e0 delle malattie infettive\u00a0comuni,\u00a0incluse le infezioni del tratto respiratorio e la diarrea. (3) L&#8217;impiego di supplementi probiotici potrebbe quindi venire associato a un ridotto uso di antibiotici.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 align=\"LEFT\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Probiotici_la_meta-analisi\"><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Probiotici, la meta-analisi<\/b><\/span><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>La meta-analisi<\/b>\u00a0<b>di Sarah King<\/b>\u00a0e collaboratori,\u00a0pubblicata sullo\u00a0<i>European\u00a0Journal of Public\u00a0Health<\/i>,\u00a0ha considerato\u00a0l&#8217;impatto dell&#8217;integrazione con probiotici, rispetto all\u2019utilizzo di antibiotici. Nei casi di infezioni acute\u00a0\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0del tratto respiratorio, del tratto digestivo inferiore o otite media acuta\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0su individui (altrimenti) sani di tutte le et\u00e0.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>La\u00a0revisione sistematica<\/b>\u00a0di studi\u00a0randomizzati controllati\u00a0ha incluso neonati, bambini, adolescenti, adulti e anziani\u00a0di qualsiasi Paese e contesto, clinico o non clinico. Le infezioni idonee allo studio hanno compreso infezioni del tratto respiratorio acuto (cio\u00e8 raffreddore, influenza, sinusite, faringite, bronchite acuta, polmonite), otite media acuta e infezioni acute del tratto digestivo inferiore (diarrea). Non anche i sintomi gastrointestinali associati ad antibiotici.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Sono stati inclusi studi<\/b>\u00a0che hanno valutato qualsiasi ceppo probiotico assunto per via orale, da solo o in combinazione con un altro ceppo probiotico.\u00a0Per una durata variabile \u00a0tra\u00a04 giorni a 9 mesi (superiore a un mese nella gran parte dei casi).\u00a0A raffronto con\u00a0placebo o senza trattamento.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Su neonati e bambini<\/b>\u00a0che hanno ricevuto probiotici\u00a0contenenti\u00a0<i>Lactobacillus<\/i>\u00a0e\u00a0<i>Bifidobacterium<\/i>,\u00a0sotto forma di integratori e prodotti alimentari, si \u00e8 riscontrato\u00a0\u00a0il 29% in meno di\u00a0probabilit\u00e0 di trattamenti antibiotici.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>L&#8217;integrazione probiotica<\/b>\u00a0ha\u00a0ridotto l\u2019incidenza di\u00a0malattie infettive\u00a0comuni,\u00a0incluse le infezioni del tratto respiratorio e la diarrea.\u00a0\u00c8 inoltre\u00a0associata alla riduzione della durata\u00a0dei sintomi in bambini e\u00a0adulti soggetti ad infezioni del tratto respiratorio superiore.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Riducendo l&#8217;occorrenza, durata e\/o<\/b>\u00a0<b>gravit\u00e0<\/b>\u00a0delle infezioni acute\u00a0comuni, la somministrazione di probiotici potrebbe quindi venire considerata\u00a0una strategia utile a ridurre la necessit\u00e0 di antibiotici.
