Le variet\u00e0 antiche di frumento coltivate con metodo biologico<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">, addirittura, sequestrano pi\u00f9 carbonio di quanto i loro cicli produttivi emettano in atmosfera. In gergo tecnico, \u2018impronta di carbonio negativa\u2019.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Cambiamento climatico e impronta di carbonio dei cicli produttivi<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Il\u00a0<\/b><b>cambiamento climatico<\/b>\u00a0ha finalmente trovato spazio nel\u00a0<i>mainstream media<\/i>, grazie alle pacifiche manifestazioni dei giovani europei. Dalle piazze ai sistemi economici e alle filiere produttive, progettare le doverose strategie di contenimento comporta l\u2019adozione di strumenti adeguati di monitoraggio. Per misurare le emissioni nell\u2019atmosfera di gas serra e l\u2019efficacia degli interventi.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>L\u2019impronta di carbonio<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">, c.d.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i>carbon footprint<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">, \u00e8 una misura che esprime in termini di \u2018CO2 equivalente\u2019 il totale delle emissioni di gas a effetto serra<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0associate direttamente o indirettamente a un prodotto, un\u2019organizzazione o un servizio. (1)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Il Protocollo di Kyoto<\/b>\u00a0indica quali gas a effetto serra l\u2019anidride carbonica (CO2), il metano (CH4), protossido d\u2019azoto (N2O), idrofluorocarburi (HFCs), esafluoruro di zolfo (SF6) e perfluorocarburi (PFCs). L\u201911,2% delle emissioni globali di gas serra antropogeniche (GHGe) \u00e8 attribuito alle pratiche agricole ed \u00e8 perci\u00f2 necessario attuare strategie che ne consentano la riduzione. (2)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Carbonio in atmosfera, il ruolo dell\u2019agricoltura<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>L\u2019agricoltura<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0pu\u00f2 assumere un ruolo negativo ma anche positivo sull\u2019ecosistema, in ragione della sostenibilit\u00e0 nella gestione dei terreni agricoli. Vale a dire, laddove vengano adottate pratiche rispettose della biodiversit\u00e0<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0e delle funzioni ecologiche degli agroecosistemi<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">. Riducendo altres\u00ec l\u2019impiego di pesticidi<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0e fertilizzanti di sintesi.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>I suoli<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0possono rappresentare una preziosa risorsa per mitigare il cambiamento climatico. Nella misura in cui essi costituiscano riserva di carbonio organico, sono infatti in grado di sequestrare i gas serra presenti in atmosfera.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Diversi studi scientifici evidenziano che un incremento della sostanza organica nei suoli in misura dell\u20191% l\u2019anno per almeno 50 anni comporterebbe, solo in Italia, un accumulo di quasi 50 milioni di tonnellate di CO2. Pari al 10% circa delle emissioni nazionali di gas serra. (3)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>L&#8217;agricoltura biologica<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">, in particolare, pu\u00f2 offrire benefici ambientali significativi. (4) Ivi compresi quelli relativi alla mitigazione e all&#8217;adattamento ai cambiamenti climatici<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">. (5)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Il comparto cerealicolo<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0&#8211; e dei legumi<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0in rotazione &#8211; negli ambienti pedoclimatici mediterranei ha un valore strategico, tenuto anche conto delle superfici investite e delle rese ottenute. Agire con determinazione sulle tecniche agronomiche<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0in questo comparto agricolo pu\u00f2 dunque costituire un valido strumento per lenire gli effetti negativi dei cambiamenti climatici.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Grani antichi e cambiamento climatico, lo studio<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Lo studio \u2018<\/b><i><b>Contribution of old wheat<\/b><\/i>\u00a0<i>varieties to climate change mitigation under contrasting managements and rainfed Mediterranean conditions<\/i>\u2019, pubblicato sulla rivista scientifica \u2018<i>Journal of Cleaner Production<\/i>\u2019, rileva che proprio le variet\u00e0 di grani antichi rappresentano un promettente rimedio per mitigare gli effetti dei cambiamenti climatici. (6)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>I ricercatori spagnoli<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0hanno messo confronto, nel corso di un triennio, colture convenzionali e biologiche di grani antichi e moderni nelle condizioni pedoclimatiche tipiche dell\u2019area mediterranea. I risultati mostrano come l\u2019impronta di carbonio rilasciata dalle vecchie variet\u00e0 di frumento<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0sia significativamente inferiore rispetto a quelle moderne.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Il\u00a0<\/b><i><b>carbon footprint<\/b><\/i>\u00a0dei grani antichi, rispetto a quello moderno, \u00e8 pari a 144 g anzich\u00e9 263 g di CO2 per kg di granella prodotta in regime di agricoltura convenzionale. L\u2019impronta carbonica \u00e8 addirittura negativa, -43 g, nel caso di coltivazioni\u00a0bio\u00a0(a raffronto coi pur apprezzabili 29 g dei grani moderni biologici). Vale a dire che &#8211; grazie ai ridotti\u00a0<i>input<\/i>\u00a0energetici e ai propri residui organici &#8211; i grani antichi coltivati in regime di agricoltura biologica catturano nel suolo pi\u00f9 anidride carbonica di quella necessaria al loro intero ciclo di produzione.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>I grani antichi bio<\/b>\u00a0&#8211; realizzati con lavorazioni conservative, corretta gestione delle rotazioni agronomiche e naturali apporti di sostanza organica &#8211; possono quindi assumere un ruolo protagonista in una strategia di lotta al cambiamento climatico. Ed \u00e8 curioso, un eufemismo, che la ricerca in esame &#8211; sebbene pubblicata su una delle pi\u00f9 prestigiose riviste scientifiche di settore &#8211; non abbia avuto alcuna visibilit\u00e0 sui media generalisti. Sempre pronti,\u00a0<i>\u00e7a va sans dir<\/i>, a denigrare ignobilmente il settore biologico.
