Lo studio brasiliano<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>I ricercatori<\/strong>\u00a0hanno indotto nelle cavie animali una condizione di obesit\u00e0, per simulare le condizioni patologiche che affliggono almeno 650 milioni di individui, degli oltre 1,9 miliardi in sovrappeso. (2) L&#8217;origine di questa patologia \u00e8 in larga parte dovuta a fattori comportamentali. Il repentino incremento dell&#8217;occorrenza dell&#8217;obesit\u00e0, a partire dagli anni \u201880 del secolo scorso, \u00e8 infatti attribuito al maggiore consumo di alimenti ultraprocessati ricchi di grassi saturi, zuccheri aggiunti e alta densit\u00e0 energetica, assieme a uno stile di vita sedentario. (3)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Le cavie<\/strong>\u00a0sono state divise in due gruppi, uno di controllo e l&#8217;altro soggetto a regime ipercalorico. Dopo 20 settimane, i ratti sono stati trattati in modo da verificare gli effetti della somministrazione per 10 settimane di una dose quotidiana di\u00a0licopene (in olio di mais) pari a\u00a010 mg\/kg di massa corporea.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Al termine della sperimentazione<\/strong>, le condizioni di salute delle cavie obese trattate con licopene &#8211; in origine afflitte dalle patologie tipicamente associate all\u2019obesit\u00e0\u00a0\u00a0&#8211; inclusa la malattia del\u00a0fegato grasso\u00a0(steatosi epatica non alcolica,\u00a0<em>Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease<\/em>,\u00a0NAFLD) &#8211;\u00a0hanno registrato netti miglioramenti. Con aumento del c.d. \u2018colesterolo &#8216;buono&#8217; (HDL), mitigazione dell&#8217;elevato livello del fattore di necrosi tumorale-\u03b1 (TNF-\u03b1), una migliore funzionalit\u00e0 epatica.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Licopene_azione_antiossidante_e_prevenzione_malattie\"><\/span>Licopene, azione antiossidante e prevenzione malattie<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Il licopene<\/strong>\u00a0\u00e8 un carotenoide che conferisce il colore rosso a pomodori, pompelmo rosso, anguria e albicocche. \u00c8 impiegato anche come colorante alimentare (E160d). Non essendo sintetizzato dall&#8217;organismo, deve venire introdotto con la dieta.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Il pomodoro<\/strong>\u00a0\u00e8 la principale fonte di licopene nella dieta. Ma \u00e8 dimostrato che il maggiore apporto si ottiene da salse e sughi di pomodoro, quindi dalla triturazione e cottura del frutto fresco. (4) Le concentrazioni sieriche raggiungono il picco dopo 24-48 ore dal pasto.<\/p>\n<p><strong>L&#8217;approvvigionamento di sughi e passate<\/strong>\u00a0in Italia \u00e8 ancor pi\u00f9 semplice che altrove. Il Bel Paese \u00e8 il secondo produttore mondiale di pomodori da industria. Preceduto dalla California (USA) e seguito dalla Cina. E primo esportatore di polpe e pelati, con una quota del 77% del valore mondiale. Per avere un&#8217;idea, si sappia che secondo e terzo esportatore sono la Spagna e la California, con appena il 5% e il 4% del valore globale.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Licopene_conserve_di_pomodoro_e_integratori\"><\/span>Licopene, conserve di pomodoro e integratori<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Le conserve di pomodoro<\/strong>, meglio se bio,\u00a0sono dunque un ingrediente di salute. \u00c8 dimostrata infatti la potente azione antiossidante del licopene, utile a prevenire malattie cardiovascolari e carcinoma prostatico.(5)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nel trattamento<\/strong>\u00a0di gravi casi di malattia correlata all&#8217;obesit\u00e0, come quelli oggetto dello studio brasiliano, tuttavia, il solo apporto di licopene da alimenti non \u00e8 sufficiente.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8216;<em>Nonostante l&#8217;esito<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0degli effetti del licopene sul NAFLD osservati in questo studio, ci sono alcune limitazioni riguardo alla traduzione di questo studio nell&#8217;uomo.\u00a0La concentrazione di licopene utilizzata nel trattamento \u00e8 superiore a quella che potrebbe essere offerta da una dieta equilibrata<\/em>&#8216;, concludono i ricercatori.
