Coltivata in ambiente chiuso, in acqua dolce, \u00e8 stata oggetto di sperimentazioni da parte di diversi gruppi\u00a0di ricercatori. Con risultati incoraggianti, se pure basati su piccoli numeri. Nella prospettiva di sviluppare con poche risorse alimenti sostenibili &#8211; vale a dire, nutrienti e compatibili con l&#8217;ambiente &#8211; per nutrire la popolazione globale.<\/p>\n<p><strong>La nuova variante<\/strong>\u00a0di lenticchia d&#8217;acqua offre invero l\u2019intero\u00a0<em>plafond<\/em>\u00a0degli aminoacidi essenziali, fibre alimentari, polifenoli, minerali (ferro e zinco soprattutto) e vitamine (la B12\u00a0<em>in primis<\/em>). Con livelli apprezzabili di bio-disponibilit\u00e0, verificati in un primo studio clinico randomizzato. (1)<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Utile_per_obesi_e_anemici\"><\/span>Utile per obesi e anemici<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>La pi\u00f9 piccola pianta<\/strong> fiorita\u00a0del pianeta &#8211; come viene descritta la\u00a0<em>Wolffia globosa<\/em>,\u00a0per il suo stelo di appena 0,2 mm di diametro &#8211; sembra utile anche a soddisfare il fabbisogno proteico degli obesi. Somministrata\u00a0per tre mesi a 20 maschi 51enni con sindrome metabolica,\u00a0in alternativa a un frullato di yogurt, la pianta ha dimostrato un effetto benefico sui livelli glicemici postprandiali. (2)<\/p>\n<p><strong>L&#8217;apporto di ferro\u00a0<\/strong>della\u00a0<em>Wolffia globosa Mankai<\/em>, infine, \u00e8 stato analizzato in uno studio condotto su 294 maschi obesi sottoposti a una dieta a basso contenuto di carne e su 50 cavie (femmine di ratto) con anemia indotta. In entrambi i casi, il\u00a0<em>superfood<\/em>\u00a0ha centrato il bersaglio. Negli uomini non ha compromesso l&#8217;omeostasi del ferro (mantenendolo stabile), negli animali ha determinato l&#8217;inversione dell&#8217;anemia, grazie a un\u2019elevata biodisponibilit\u00e0 del minerale. (3)<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Fonte_proteica_nei_mangimi\"><\/span>Fonte proteica nei mangimi<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Negli animali da allevamento<\/strong>\u00a0la\u00a0<em>Wolffia globosa<\/em>\u00a0\u00e8 studiata da pi\u00f9 tempo. Le ricerche la qualificano come una possibile alternativa alla soia, nell&#8217;alimentazione degli animali di allevamento.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Somministrata a polli<\/strong>,\u00a0galline ovaiole, quaglie e altri animali da reddito, nella giusta proporzione, \u00e8 risultata una fonte proteica persino superiore alla leguminosa in questione. La cui straordinaria domanda nel mercato globale ha raggiunto, negli ultimi anni, un livello critico dal punto di vista socio-ambientale.
