L&#8217;ipotesi emerge da una meta-analisi pubblicata su <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/22634320\" rel=\"nofollow\">Microb Pathog<\/a><\/em>, che ha valutato il ruolo di alcuni lattobacilli.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I ricercatori hanno esaminato l&#8217;esito di 82 studi condotti sugli animali, sull&#8217;uomo e in vitro. Ne \u00e8 emerso che alcune specie di lattobacilli (L. acidophilus, L. fermentum, L. ingluviei) favoriscono l&#8217;aumento di peso, altre (L. plantarum, L. gasseri) sono associate alla perdita di peso.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dal 2006 nella UE i probiotici sono aggiunti ai mangimi degli animali da allevamento in sostituzione degli antibiotici, la cui somministrazione per prevenire malattie e favorire l&#8217;aumento di peso \u00e8 vietata. Il risultato \u00e8 che questi microrganismi si sono dimostrati efficaci nella riduzione dei disturbi digestivi e nell&#8217;aumento di peso.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pi\u00f9 incerto \u00e8 l&#8217;effetto dei probiotici nella cura dell&#8217;obesit\u00e0 dell&#8217;uomo.
