La scarsa conoscenza della malattia dett&ograve; la loro esigenza primaria: comprendere cosa fosse esattamente, come diagnosticarla, come gestire una dieta priva di glutine e dove trovare alimenti sicuri.<\/p>\n<p> Dopo oltre 30 anni di attivit&agrave; e un grande contributo nella tutela dei celiaci, l&rsquo;Associazione Italiana Celiachia conta circa 65.000 associati. Oggi ha l&#8217;obiettivo primario di ottenere maggiori garanzie nella somministrazione di cibi privi di glutine nelle occasioni di consumo fuori casa, per assicurare al celiaco una vita normale in ogni contesto, in famiglia come in vacanza, al lavoro e in ogni altro luogo della quotidianit&agrave;. Si batte, infatti, contro la &ldquo;medicalizzazione&rdquo; del morbo.<\/p>\n<p> La tempestivit&agrave; della diagnosi &egrave; molto importante. Considerato che in Italia si stima che una persona su 100 sia intollerante al glutine, le 150.000 diagnosi gi&agrave; accertate rappresentano soltanto la punta dell&#8217;iceberg. Anche grazie alla Associazione Italiana Celiachia, tuttavia, la ricerca della malattia &egrave; migliorata.
