Le tre specie sono infatti elencate, nel catalogo dei\u00a0<em>Novel Food<\/em>\u00a0tenuto dalla Commissione europea, quali alimenti tradizionali. (1) E proprio in quanto \u00e8 stata raccolta prova del loro consumo alimentare diffuso e sicuro prima del 15.5.97, si esclude l\u2019applicazione a tali specie del regolamento sui nuovi alimenti (reg. CE 258\/97, abrogato e sostituito dal\u00a0reg. UE 2015\/2283). (2)<\/p>\n<p><strong>L\u2019utilizzo<\/strong>\u00a0di microalghe della famiglia\u00a0<em>Chlorella<\/em>, come si \u00e8 visto,\u00a0\u00e8 stato inoltre sperimentato con successo nella bio-decontaminazione di acque e reflui da composti organici e residui di pesticidi. Le prospettive di loro impiego nella bonifica ambientale e in agricoltura sono quindi altres\u00ec promettenti. Quali alternative economiche e naturali &#8211; nonch\u00e9 compatibili con l\u2019agricoltura biologica &#8211; ad altri trattamenti e sostanze di sintesi chimica.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Chlorella_vulgaris_e_Chlorella_protothecoides_storica_confusione\"><\/span><em>Chlorella vulgaris<\/em> e <em>Chlorella protothecoides<\/em>, storica confusione<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Gli aggiornamenti periodici\u00a0<\/strong>della tassonomia, nel corso degli anni, hanno condotto alla revisione del nome di\u00a0<em>Chlorella luteoviridis<\/em>, ribattezzata\u00a0<em>Heterochlorella luteoviridis<\/em>. E soprattutto, la revisione delle analisi sulle raccolte di colture algali ha mostrato la ripetuta confusione nell\u2019identificare come\u00a0<em>Chlorella vulgaris\u00a0<\/em>alcuni ceppi di\u00a0<em>Chlorella pyrenoidosa<\/em>. Tale analisi, supportata da diversi studi scientifici, suggerisce che\u00a0<em>Chlorella pyrenoidosa<\/em>\u00a0potrebbe essere stata consumata come ingrediente alimentare, in Europa, prima del 1997.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Il CEVA<\/strong>\u00a0(<em>Centre d\u2019\u00c9tudes &amp; de Valorisation des Algues<\/em>) &#8211; nel proprio rapporto \u2018<em>Macroalgues et microalgues alimentaires &#8211; Statut r\u00e8glementaire en France et en Europe, Synth\u00e8se CEVA 2019<\/em>\u2019, aggiornato al 19.3.20 &#8211; riconosce in effetti l\u2019utilizzo tradizionale di\u00a0<em>Chlorella pyrenoidosa<\/em>\u00a0nella produzione di alimenti e integratori alimentari (3,4). Dato atto della sua storica \u2018inesatta classificazione\u2019 (o confusione) con\u00a0<em>Chlorella vulgaris<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Chlorella_protothecoides_incertezza_di_status_nel_mercato_interno\"><\/span><em>Chlorella protothecoides<\/em>, incertezza di\u00a0<em>status<\/em>\u00a0nel mercato interno<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>La Commissione europea<\/strong>, negli ultimi mesi, ha raccolto prova di quanto dedotto da CEVA. A seguito di interlocuzione con il governo francese, il quale aveva trasmesso il suo rapporto all\u2019Unit\u00e0 E2-\u00a0<em>Food processing technologies and novel foods<\/em>\u00a0della DG Sante. Nondimeno\u00a0i funzionari di Bruxelles si sono a tutt\u2019oggi astenuti dall\u2019aggiornare il registro europeo dei\u00a0<em>Novel Food<\/em>, confermando lo\u00a0<em>status<\/em>\u00a0di alimento tradizionale della specie in esame.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Questa incertezza<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; al pari di altre, che abbiamo pi\u00f9 volte denunciato, sui derivati di\u00a0<em>Cannabis Sativa L<\/em>. &#8211; \u00e8 causa di grave ostacolo per la libera circolazione delle merci nel mercato interno. Gli operatori infatti, in assenza di una applicazione uniforme del regolamento sui\u00a0<em>Novel Food<\/em>, sono costretti ad affrontare oneri amministrativi e rischi di contestazioni ogni qualvolta intendano immettere un alimento in circolazione nei vari Paesi membri.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mercato_interno_PMI_e_ostacoli_allinnovazione\"><\/span>Mercato interno,\u00a0PMI\u00a0e ostacoli all\u2019innovazione<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>L\u2019incertezza giuridica<\/strong>\u00a0\u00e8 il primo e pi\u00f9 grave ostacolo ostacolo all\u2019innovazione alimentare. Ed \u00e8 causa di inaccettabili distorsioni della concorrenza a danno delle PMI e microimprese, le quali rappresentano oltre il 90% degli operatori in Unione Europea e sono generalmente prive delle risorse economiche per affrontare onerose consulenze regolatorie nei diversi Stati membri.<\/p>\n<p><strong>L\u2019innovazione alimentare<\/strong>, la ricerca e lo sviluppo sono tra l\u2019altro focalizzati proprio su ingredienti dotati di caratteristiche peculiari e pregevoli dal punto di vista nutrizionale.
