Prima in USA e nel continente americano, poi anche in Europa e altrove. Si inquadra tra le malattie non trasmissibili (<em>Non-Communicable Diseases<\/em>, NCDs) la cui prevalenza \u00e8 attribuita al consumo abituale di cibo spazzatura e diete squilibrate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zucchero<\/strong>\u00a0e olio di palma sono in cima alla lista delle sostanze il cui apporto nella dieta viene direttamente associato all\u2019insorgenza della steatosi. La quale pu\u00f2 degenerare in steatoepatite non alcolica (<em>Non Alcoholic Steatohepatitis<\/em>, NASH) e fibrosi, con infiammazione e danni alle cellule del fegato. Infine, cirrosi epatica e carcinomi.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Alla_ricerca_di_una_cura\"><\/span>Alla ricerca di una cura<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>L\u2019unica speranza<\/strong>\u00a0di salvezza dalla steatosi risiede nella drastica correzione della dieta. Eliminazione di cibo spazzatura e bevande alcoliche, riduzione del peso. Attualmente non esistono farmaci per il trattamento di questa malattia, sebbene la ricerca proceda e diverse sperimentazioni cliniche siano tuttora in corso. N\u00e9 sono stati a tutt\u2019oggi individuati singoli fitocomposti utili allo scopo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>La ricerca<\/strong>\u00a0in esame ha valutato l\u2019efficacia, nel trattamento della NAFLD, di un prodotto nutraceutico in capsule che contiene una combinazione di una\u00a0frazione polifenolica di bergamotto ed estratto\u00a0di carciofo cinarina (<em>Cynara Cardunculus<\/em>). (2) Attraverso uno studio clinico controllato randomizzato, in doppio cieco contro placebo, che ha coinvolto 102 pazienti non diabetici con steatosi epatica. (3)<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Bergamotto_e_cardo_selvatico_un_promettente_contributo\"><\/span>Bergamotto e cardo selvatico, un promettente contributo<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>I ricercatori\u00a0<\/strong>hanno somministrato una capsula del nutraceutico a base di bergamotto e cardo selvatico (300 mg\/giorno) per 12 settimane consecutive. Riscontrando una apprezzabile riduzione del parametro di attenuazione controllata (PAC) &#8211; indice di misura utilizzato per valutare, attraverso analisi non invasiva, il grado di elasticit\u00e0 o rigidit\u00e0 del fegato (fibrosi) e la percentuale di grasso nel fegato (la\u00a0steatosi) &#8211; nei partecipanti di et\u00e0 superiore ai 50 anni. (4)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greatitalianfoodtrade.it\/frutta\/bergamotto\"><strong>Bergamotto<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0e cardo selvatico\u00a0possono dunque costituire un promettente complemento alle misure non farmacologiche comunemente utilizzate per contrastare l&#8217;insorgenza e la progressione della steatosi epatica.
