la loro coltivazione \u00e8 possibile in diversi contesti, non richiede il consumo di suolo, ha un\u2019efficienza maggiore rispetto ad altre colture e contribuisce in misura sostanziale a sequestrare la CO2 in atmosfera,<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_60204\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-60204\" style=\"width: 850px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-60204 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/IMG_0249-1.jpg\" alt=\"Fig. 1 -\u00a0Microalgae cultivation with availability of essential nutrients and potential bioproducts. (2)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8211; il loro impiego nei cibi offre apporti preziosi a nutrizione e salute. Proteine,\u00a0acidi grassi Omega 3 marini, fibre alimentari, polisaccaridi, vitamine e oligoelementi, fitocomposti.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Disciplina_dei_Novel_Foods\"><\/span>2) Disciplina dei<em>\u00a0Novel Foods<\/em><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Gli operatori<\/strong>\u00a0che decidano di produrre e\/o importare e commercializzare nuovi alimenti in UE, incluse le microalghe per uso alimentare, devono anzitutto identificare il loro\u00a0<em>status<\/em>\u00a0rispetto alla disciplina dei\u00a0<em>Novel Foods<\/em>\u00a0(reg. UE 2015\/2283). Le singole matrici, a seconda dei casi, possono risultare essere:<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; alimenti tradizionali<\/strong>, cio\u00e8 provvisti di un\u2019esperienza di consumo sicuro e consolidato in UE anteriore al 15.5.97. Il loro impiego pu\u00f2 proseguire senza bisogno di autorizzazioni (senza trascurare possibili incertezze. V. nota 3),<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; <em>novel food<\/em>\u00a0autorizzati<\/strong>. In tale ipotesi bisogna verificare requisiti, condizioni di utilizzo ed eventuali esclusive concesse ai richiedenti,<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; <em>novel food\u00a0in fieri<\/em><\/strong>. Se una procedura di autorizzazione \u00e8 gi\u00e0 in corso, si pu\u00f2 prefigurare il suo possibile esito esaminando il contenuto della domanda,<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; <em>novel food<\/em>\u00a0non autorizzati<\/strong>. La loro immissione deve venite preceduta da apposita autorizzazione, a esito di valutazione della loro sicurezza da parte di demandata a EFSA (<em>European Food Safety Authority<\/em>).<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Status_degli_alimenti\"><\/span>3)\u00a0<em>Status<\/em>\u00a0degli alimenti<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Una valutazione\u00a0preliminare<\/strong>\u00a0sullo\u00a0<em>status<\/em>\u00a0di un alimento rispetto alla disciplina dei\u00a0<em>novel foods<\/em>\u00a0pu\u00f2 venire eseguita mediante analisi di:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Catalogo europeo dei<em>\u00a0Novel Food<\/em>.\u00a0\u00c8 un elenco gestito dalla Commissione europea, non completo e privo di efficacia giuridica vincolante,<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; lista europea di\u00a0<em>Novel food<\/em>\u00a0autorizzati, con indicazione di requisiti di processo e specifiche tecniche, condizioni d\u2019impiego ed etichettatura, eventuali diritti di esclusiva,<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; possibilit\u00e0 di avviare una\u00a0consultazione\u00a0presso lo Stato membro ove si intenda introdurre nel commercio l\u2019alimento. (4)<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Microalghe_e_Novel_Foods\"><\/span>4) Microalghe e\u00a0<em>Novel Foods<\/em><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>L\u2019analisi preliminare<\/strong>\u00a0di cui sopra ci consente di osservare lo\u00a0status\u00a0attuale di 22 microalghe.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"41_Sei_microalghe_tradizionali\"><\/span>4.1) Sei microalghe tradizionali<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Il Catalogo europeo<\/strong>\u00a0indica come non nuove, in quanto presenti sul mercato e consumate in Europa in quantit\u00e0 significativa prima del 15.5.97, le sei microalghe che seguono:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <em>Arthrospira platensis<\/em>, cianobatterio noto come Spirulina, (5)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<em> Aphanizomenon flosaquae<\/em>,<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <em>Chlorella vulgaris<\/em>,\u00a0(6)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <em>Chlorella pyrenoidosa<\/em>,<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <em>Chlorella Iuteoviridis<\/em>,<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <em>Auxenochlorella prototechoides<\/em>\u00a0(per soli integratori alimentari).<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"42_Sei_microalghe_Novel_Food\"><\/span>4.2) Sei microalghe\u00a0<em>Novel Food<\/em><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Sei microalghe<\/strong>\u00a0hanno gi\u00e0 ricevuto un\u2019autorizzazione all\u2019impiego in UE come ingredienti alimentari, quali\u00a0<em>novel food<\/em>:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <em>Odontella auritam<\/em>,<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <em>Tetraselmis chuii\u00a0<\/em>(polvere),<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <em>Ulkenia sp<\/em>.\u00a0(olio),<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <em>Schizochytrium sp.<\/em>\u00a0(olio. Ricco in Omega-3 marini, DHA e EPA),<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <em>Haematococcus pluvialis\u00a0<\/em>(oleoresina ricca di astaxantina),<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <em>Euglena Gracilis\u00a0<\/em>essiccata.\u00a0(7)<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"43_Tre_microalghe_in_itinere\"><\/span>4.3) Tre microalghe<em>\u00a0in itinere<\/em><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>La procedura di autorizzazione\u00a0<\/strong>\u00e8 invece\u00a0in itinere\u00a0per tre microalghe:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <em>Phaeodactlyum tricornutum\u00a0<\/em>(olio, ricco in EPA),<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <em>Galdieria sulphuraria\u00a0<\/em>(biomassa essiccata. Parere EFSA atteso entro il 17.9.22)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <em>Chlamydomonas reinhardtii\u00a0<\/em>(polvere). (8)<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"44_Sette_microalghe_non_nuove\"><\/span>4.4) Sette microalghe non nuove<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>JRC<\/strong>, il\u00a0<em>Joint Research Centre\u00a0<\/em>della Commissione europea, ha riconosciuto l\u2019esistenza di esperienze di consumo significativo, anteriore al 15.5.97, di 32 alghe. Sulla base dei documenti acquisiti in Francia, Italia, Belgio, Portogallo, Germania, Austria e Svizzera. (9) Tra queste, oltre a macroalghe, cianobatteri e protisti di labirintoidi, figurano 7 microalghe:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; Chlorella sorokiniana,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; Dunaliella salina,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; Graesiella emersonii,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; Haematococcus lacustris,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; Nannochloropsis oculate,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; Parachlorella kessleri,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; Scenedesmus vacuolatus.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ricerca e sviluppo<\/strong>\u00a0proseguono &#8211; anche nei progetti cofinanziati in Horizon 2020, come #ProFuture<em>,<\/em> (10,11) #NextGenProteins, #SEAFOODTOMORROW.
