Ed \u00e8 direttamente collegata alle malattie cardiovascolari, che nell\u201980% dei casi colpiscono le persone obese e in sovrappeso.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sovrappeso e obesit\u00e0<\/strong> sono cos\u00ec oggi la prima causa delle malattie cardiovascolari, che negli anni \u201890 del secolo scorso erano invece principalmente attribuite al fumo di sigaretta. (1) E questo gruppo di malattie rappresenta a tutt\u2019oggi la prima causa di mortalit\u00e0 prematura a livello globale.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Il_BMI_come_indicatore_di_rischio\"><\/span>Il BMI come indicatore di rischio<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Il BMI<\/strong> (<em>body mass index<\/em>,\u00a0indice di massa corporea) \u00e8 un valore di riferimento che si calcola dividendo il peso (in kg) per l\u2019altezza al quadrato (m2). Il ministero della salute ha predisposto un facile strumento di calcolo, a questo <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salute.gov.it\/portale\/nutrizione\/dettaglioIMCNutrizione.jsp?lingua=italiano&amp;id=5479&amp;area=nutrizione&amp;menu=vuoto\">link<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Controllare il BMI<\/strong> \u00e8 importante, considerato che:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>gi\u00e0 a partire dalla fascia alta del normopeso (22,5-25 kg\/m2) il rischio di mortalit\u00e0 per tutte le cause aumenta del 30% ogni 5 kg\/m2\u00a0di incremento, (2)<\/li>\n<li>il sovrappeso (BMI tra 25 e 29,9 kg\/m2) raddoppia la probabilit\u00e0 di sviluppare ipertensione, rispetto alla condizione di normopeso (BMI 18,5-24,99), (3)<\/li>\n<li>l\u2019obesit\u00e0 (BMI &gt;35) aumenta i fattori di rischio, anche a causa di ipertensione, dislipidemia e diabete di tipo 2. In questi casi il rischio di infarto e ictus viene anticipato di 10 anni e con maggiore gravit\u00e0. (4)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #111111; font-family: Roboto, sans-serif; font-size: 27px;\">Come difendersi<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>L\u2019obesit\u00e0<\/strong> \u00e8 una malattia e in quanto tale merita di venire gestita con il supporto degli appositi centri sanitari. Per il sovrappeso, oltre al sostegno di un nutrizionista \u00e8 opportuno rivedere il proprio stile alimentare e introdurre l\u2019esercizio fisico regolare.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gli apporti eccessivi<\/strong> di grassi saturi, zuccheri e sale &#8211; venefici per l\u2019eccesso ponderale &#8211; possono venire facilmente evitati gi\u00e0 in fase di scelta dei prodotti alimentari a scaffale.
