Edulcorante efficace e versatile, privo di retrogusto e soprattutto \u2018non pericoloso\u2019 &#8211; cos\u00ec tutti dicevano -come si era invece rivelata la saccarina. E gli studi di diverso avviso sono stati sottovalutati dalle autorit\u00e0 deputate alla valutazione del rischio:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; nel 1973 FDA (<em>Food and Drug Administration<\/em>) autorizzava per la prima volta l\u2019aspartame in USA, trascurando gli studi indipendenti che lo associavano a gravi rischi di salute pubblica (ritardi mentali, lesioni cerebrali, disturbi neuro-endocrini),<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; nel 2013 EFSA confermava l\u2019ipotetica sicurezza dell\u2019aspartame, trascurando per\u00f2 una serie di evidenze scientifiche di segno contrario. Come dimostrato in una revisione critica di ricercatori britannici (Millstone <em>et al<\/em>., 2019), i quali hanno invano sollecitato il suo ritiro dal mercato, (2)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; nel 2021, uno studio portoghese e spagnolo (Finamor<em> et al.<\/em>, 2021) ha rilanciato l\u2019allarme. Le cavie trattate per 12 settimane con 80 mg\/kg\/die di aspartame (il doppio della DGA) hanno sviluppato stress ossidativo, infiammazione e danni al fegato. (3)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gli studi\u00a0scientifici<\/strong> tuttora spesso associano il consumo di aspartame all\u2019alterazione del microbioma e a rischi anche gravi per la salute. Non solo mal di testa ma anche epilessia e tumori cerebrali.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"La_nuova_valutazione_di_IARC\"><\/span>La nuova valutazione di IARC<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>La valutazione IARC\u00a0<\/strong>per decidere se l\u2019aspartame va classificato come \u2018possibile cancerogeno per l\u2019uomo\u2019 deriva dalle ricerche di un gruppo di lavoro <em>ad hoc<\/em> dal 6 al 13 giugno 2023.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sullo stesso argomento <\/strong>in questi giorni (27 giugno-6 luglio 2023) sta lavorando un gruppo WHO-FAO per decidere la (eventuale) dose sicura per il consumo di aspartame. La pubblicazione della conclusione congiunta \u00e8 attesa per il 14 luglio.<\/p>\n<p><strong>La classificazione IARC <\/strong>delle sostanze sospettate di causare il cancro contempla tre livelli di rischio, alle luce delle evidenze scientifiche:<\/p>\n<p>1 &#8211; cancerogeno,<\/p>\n<p>2A &#8211; probabile cancerogeno,<\/p>\n<p>2B &#8211; possibile cancerogeno.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nell\u2019ultimo gruppo (2B)<\/strong> sono presenti 322 sostanze, alle quali potrebbe sommarsi l\u2019aspartame.<\/p>\n<p><em>Marta Strinati<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Note\"><\/span>Note<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>(1) Jennifer Rigby\u00a0e\u00a0Richa Naidu.
