Introduzione<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>\u2018<\/strong><em><strong>End hunger<\/strong>\u00a0and all forms of malnutrition<\/em>\u2019 (#SDG2.1, 2.2), gli obiettivi di sviluppo sostenibile in cima alla lista dell\u2019Agenda ONU 2030, sono sempre pi\u00f9 lontani rispetto alla prima edizione del rapporto SOFI (2017) a causa dell&#8217;intensificarsi di conflitti, eventi climatici estremi, crisi economiche e disuguaglianze (v. note 2-8).<\/p>\n<p><strong>I rapporti SOFI<\/strong> &#8211; oltre a fornire prova del fallimento sistemico delle politiche estere e sociali di gran parte dei 195 membri FAO (194 Stati e l\u2019Unione Europea) &#8211; offre utili spunti su\u00a0<em>megatrend<\/em>\u00a0che meritano attenzione nelle politiche agricole, ambientali, alimentari e sanitarie. Quali l\u2019urbanizzazione accelerata e la diffusione epidemica di<em>\u00a0junk food.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>La cooperazione<\/strong>\u00a0internazionale e multilaterale \u00e8 tanto pi\u00f9 necessaria nella\u00a0ricerca\u00a0e sviluppo, per affrontare questioni-chiave come la disponibilit\u00e0 di alimenti sicuri e salutari per le fasce pi\u00f9 vulnerabili &#8211; sotto entrambi i punti di vista delle condizioni di salute e socio-economiche &#8211; delle popolazioni del mondo. E la loro produzione sostenibile, perci\u00f2 stabile e costante.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Fame_in_crescita\"><\/span>2) Fame in crescita<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>La fame<\/strong>\u00a0ha afflitto almeno il 9,2% della popolazione mondiale nel 2022, tra i 691 e i 783 milioni di esseri umani secondo le stime approssimative al ribasso delle agenzie ONU. 122 milioni di persone in pi\u00f9 &#8211; cio\u00e8 oltre il doppio della popolazione in Italia &#8211; sono cadute nel vortice della malnutrizione acuta, rispetto all\u2019era pre-Covid (quando la fame colpiva almeno il 7,9%, dati 2019).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/1-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-72414\" src=\"http:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"809\" height=\"711\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/1-1.jpg 809w, https:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/1-1-300x264.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/1-1-768x675.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/1-1-150x132.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/1-1-696x612.jpg 696w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 809px) 100vw, 809px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2018<em>Tra il 2021 e il 2022\u00a0sono stati compiuti progressi nella riduzione della fame in Asia e in America Latina, ma la fame \u00e8 ancora in aumento in Asia occidentale, Caraibi e in tutte le sottoregioni dell&#8217;Africa<\/em>\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Le agenzie ONU <\/strong>esprimono ottimismo, la fame potrebbe ridursi fino ad affliggere \u2018solo\u2019 600 milioni di individui entro il 2030. Non per merito degli aiuti dell\u2019Occidente ai Paesi pi\u00f9 poveri, ormai inesistenti come si \u00e8 visto. (9) Le uniche speranze sono oggi affidate alla cooperazione in area BRICS, che si spera potr\u00e0 condurre a un nuovo ordine mondiale ispirato a pace e multilateralismo.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Malnutrizione_per_un_terzo_dellumanita\"><\/span>3) Malnutrizione per un terzo dell\u2019umanit\u00e0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Il 29,6%\u00a0dell\u2019umanit\u00e0<\/strong> &#8211; 2,4 miliardi di persone &#8211; vive in condizioni di \u2018<em>food insecurity<\/em>\u2019 grave o \u2018moderata\u2019 (secondo i parametri FIES,\u00a0<em>Food Insecurity Experience Scale<\/em>). Il 60,9% della popolazione in\u00a0Africa, il 37,5% in America Latina e Caraibi, il 24,2% in Asia, il 13% in Oceania, l\u20198% in Nord America ed Europa, \u00e8 \u2018<em>food insecure<\/em>\u2019. Con maggiore esposizione delle popolazioni in aree rurali (+3,7%) e le donne (+2,4%).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-72415\" src=\"http:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"698\" height=\"623\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/2.jpg 698w, https:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/2-300x268.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/2-150x134.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/2-696x621.jpg 696w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 698px) 100vw, 698px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>148,1 milioni di bambini<\/strong>\u00a0sotto i cinque anni (22,3% sul totale) risultano essere affetti da rachitismo, 45 milioni (6,8%) da deperimento per fame e malnutrizione cronica, 37 milioni (5,6%) in sovrappeso. Tali numeri sono peraltro inconsistenti, almeno per quanto attiene a sovrappeso e obesit\u00e0, rispetto ai dati contenuti nei rapporti macro-regionali di WHO e UNICEF (10,11).<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Urbanizzazione_e_diffusione_di_junk-food_nei_Paesi_piu_poveri\"><\/span>4) Urbanizzazione e diffusione di <em>junk-food<\/em>\u00a0nei Paesi pi\u00f9 poveri<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>L\u2019urbanizzazione\u00a0<\/strong>\u00e8 in spiccata crescita, con una quota di popolazione globale che vive nelle citt\u00e0 &#8211; oggi 56% &#8211; attesa salire al 70% entro il 2050. (12) Questo fenomeno sta determinando cambiamenti nei sistemi agroalimentari \u2018lungo il continuum rurale-urbano\u2019. I colossi globali di\u00a0<em>Big Food\u00a0<\/em>hanno radicato la distribuzione di\u00a0<em>junk food<\/em>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0alimenti ultraprocessati\u00a0e nocivi, (13) a causa dei profili nutrizionali scadenti &#8211; anche in\u00a0<em>Low and Middle Income Countries\u00a0<\/em>(LMIC).<\/p>\n<p><strong>La grande sfida <\/strong>\u00e8 garantire a tutti l&#8217;accesso a diete sane a prezzi accessibili. Servono dunque politiche in grado di:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; ostacolare produzione e vendita di prodotti HFSS (<em>high in fat, salt and\/or sugar<\/em>), con politiche fiscali e di informazione nutrizionale ma anche facendo leva sulla responsabilit\u00e0 sociale delle imprese coinvolte, (14)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; promuovere la filiera corta, per soddisfare il fabbisogno giornaliero di verdura e frutta e includere i piccoli agricoltori nelle catene del valore formali.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_Ricerca_e_sviluppo\"><\/span>5) Ricerca e sviluppo<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>FAO<\/strong>\u00a0sottolinea inoltre la necessit\u00e0 aumentare gli investimenti pubblici in ricerca e sviluppo per sviluppare sistemi agroalimentari pi\u00f9 sani, nonch\u00e9 aumentare la disponibilit\u00e0 e l&#8217;accessibilit\u00e0 di cibi nutrienti ed equilibrati. \u2018<em>La tecnologia pu\u00f2 essere particolarmente importante per potenziare la capacit\u00e0 dell&#8217;agricoltura urbana e periurbana di fornire alimenti nutrienti nelle citt\u00e0 e nei Paesi<\/em>\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Le tecnologie <\/strong>devono aiutare le\u00a0<em>Small and Medium Enterprises<\/em>\u00a0(SMEs) a produrre e distribuire alimenti sicuri e nutrienti risparmiando energia, acqua e risorse.
