Questi batteri lattici, anaerobi che tollerano l&#8217;ossigeno, sono stati impiegati per secoli nel processo di fermentazione alimentare.\u00a0(6)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recenti studi<\/strong> hanno evidenziato l&#8217;efficacia di PS128 nel ridurre lo stress ossidativo e il danno muscolare in atleti di resistenza sottoposti a esercizio prolungato (Huang et al., 2019; Fu Szu-Kai et al. 2021. Si vedano le note 7,8). Su questa premessa, i ricercatori hanno ipotizzato e voluto verificare se l\u2019azione antiossidante di PS128 possa effettivamente contribuire a ridurre l&#8217;affaticamento muscolare e favorire il recupero della capacit\u00e0 di esercizio dopo uno sforzo prolungato.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Lo_studio_Materiali_e_metodi\"><\/span>2) Lo studio. Materiali e metodi<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Lo studio<\/strong> ha approfondito una ricerca precedente condotta da Fu Szu-Kai et al. (2021), (4) indagando sull&#8217;impatto dell&#8217;assunzione quotidiana di PS128 per via orale sulla ripresa della capacit\u00e0 di esercizio dopo una mezza maratona. Lo studio si \u00e8 concentrato sulla fatica muscolare e sull&#8217;attivit\u00e0 elettromiografica (EMG), con particolare interesse sugli effetti sul vasto mediale obliquo (VMO).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Il disegno sperimentale<\/strong>, in doppio cieco e con misure ripetute, ha coinvolto otto \u2018runner\u2019 amatoriali in et\u00e0 compresa tra 18 e 25 anni, divisi in due gruppi. Il primo gruppo ha assunto due capsule di PS128 al giorno per 4 settimane, mentre l&#8217;altro ha ricevuto un placebo. Dopo un periodo di tre mesi di \u2018washout\u2019, i ricercatori hanno invertito i trattamenti sui due gruppi, applicando gli stessi protocolli.<\/p>\n<p><strong>La mezza maratona\u00a0<\/strong>\u00e8 stata condotta in condizioni controllate, con valutazioni della forza muscolare degli arti inferiori e analisi dell&#8217;attivit\u00e0 elettromiografica (EMG) per comprendere gli effetti del probiotico sulla fatica muscolare.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_73330\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-73330\" style=\"width: 713px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-73330\" src=\"https:\/\/www.foodtimes.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Diagramma-di-flusso-del-progetto-sperimentale-300x77.jpg\" alt=\"Diagramma di flusso del progetto sperimentale.Lactobacillus plantarum PS128\" width=\"713\" height=\"183\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-73330\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Figura 1. Diagramma di flusso del disegno sperimentale.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Risultati\"><\/span>3) Risultati<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>La sperimentazione<\/strong> ha condotto ai seguenti risultati:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; al punto di partenza (baseline) non si \u00e8 rilevata una differenza significativa tra il gruppo che ha assunto il placebo e quello che ha assunto il probiotico PS128. Durante la mezza maratona, entrambi i gruppi hanno mostrato tempi simili, senza differenze significative,<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; l&#8217;analisi dell&#8217;attivit\u00e0 elettromiografica (EMG) ha rivelato tuttavia variazioni significative nel muscolo vasto mediale obliquo (VMO), indicatore di impatto sulla fatica muscolare. Mostrando altres\u00ec, nel gruppo sottoposto a placebo, una pi\u00f9 marcata diminuzione della forza muscolare nei flessori del ginocchio.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Questi risultati<\/strong> suggeriscono che l&#8217;assunzione di PS128 potrebbe influenzare positivamente la fatica muscolare e la performance durante uno sforzo prolungato come una mezza maratona.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Conclusioni_provvisorie\"><\/span>4) Conclusioni provvisorie<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Gli integratori alimentari<\/strong> con probiotici PS128 potrebbero costituire uno strumento utile a ridurre la fatica muscolare nei \u2018runner\u2019 amatoriali e professionisti.
