Correct information on all stages of the supply chain

Consumers increasingly appreciate clear and transparent information with respect to the “modus operandi” of each economic group. In the food industry, this involves providing not only accurate and comprehensive information on the origin of products and raw materials, but also on the policies adopted and implemented at each stage of the production chain and the composition of its products, giving correct nutritional information. Increasing transparency on all these elements serves to protect or enhance the reputation of the company, increasing market share and building consumer loyalty. Internationally, the Global Reporting Initiative is the institution that has most developed guidelines for corporate social and environmental responsibility. To learn about current European Union rules about transparency in consumer information on food products, you can download the e-book The Label, edited by Dario Dongo for Il Fatto Alimentare, for free.
