Biodistricts are the most powerful driver for the spreading the culture of agroecology and organic farming. On the morning of Thursday 10 October 2024, this will be discussed at the seminar ‘Organic farming and biodistricts in Sabina’ (Lazio).

The role of biodistricts

The biodistricts are the result of a virtuous aggregative dynamic. In these territories organic farmers, processors, consumer associations and local authorities are committed to the practice and dissemination of organic farming and to the sustainable management of natural resources, also in areas other than agriculture, such as tourism, educational farms etc.

The seminar and the speakers

The seminar reviews the experience of biodistricts in Sabina with experienced speakers. Speakers include

– Guido Colasanti, president of Copagri Lazio, which organizes the event with Anaprobio, the Copagri organic producers association

– Giacomo Ficco, organic producer (also known for his fine cheeses available every Sunday morning at the organic farmers’ market of CAE, the City of the Other Economy in the former Mattatoio di Testaccio, Rome), who is hosting the event

– Salvatore Basile, president of INNER, and creator of the Cilento biodistrict, the first created in Italy 20 years ago

– Cesare Zanasi, professor at the University of Bologna, Department of Food Science and Technology, a leading expert and researcher on biodistricts.

A comparison between the Lazio and the Italians biodistricts will follow. Our lawyer Dario Dongo will be moderating the event.
