A Made-in-Italy eco-friendly herbicide wipes out weeds at a stroke and allegedly condemns soil pollution. The product is called Natural Weed Control and is made by a group of Sardinian companies and researchers. The team is led by Edizero, a (Sardinian) company specializing in green building, which employs surplus agribusiness to create insulation materials.
Ecological herbicide is already in use in some virtuous municipalities. The first to adopt it was Cagliari’s green space care. And it also proves effective in agriculture. So much so that it has also been chosen abroad, in the United States and China, to remove weeds without spilling poisons.
Like other eco-dispersants, Sardinian Natural Weed Control works through the use of steam (thanks to machinery created specifically for the purpose by Cavalli & Cavalli of Mantua). Unlike the others, however, it qualifies for long treatment duration. And for the beneficial function produced on the treated soil.
Herbicide and nutrient
In fact, the mix of sheep’s wool, malvasia and olive oil (as well as waste honey and propolis resulting from cleaning the beehives) performs an insulating function against the weeds to be eliminated, caging them down to the root. At the same time, it yields nutrients to the soil.
A perfectly environmentally friendly, non-toxic product that can be used without the use of masks. A new piece to counter the invasion of agrotoxics. And embellished by Italian, or rather Sardinian, origin.
